Sempter Fi

When asked the other day what Sempter Fi meant(after an episode of NCIS-Naval Criminal Investigative Service), the answer was "always faithful". That as a quick answer. Lt.Carey H Cash explains in his book A Table In His Presence, 2005  Presidio Press, New York.: " Sempter Fidelis is the official motto of the United States Marine Corps, and it means 'Always Faithful'.  The most closely related word in all of Scripture is the Hebrew word 'hesed.' Nearly untranslatable in English, it is a word used to describe the unending faithfulness that God has for His people; a faithfulness that even when rejected, remains true; even when snubbed, is not offended; even when forgotten, does not forget. 'Hesed' describes God's undying commitment never to cease pursuing our hearts. never to cease desiring our best, never to cease employing whatever means necessary to gain our loving companionship so He can grant us the indescribable blessings of abundant and eternal life... God's faithfulness will not rest until a man or woman rests in Him. God's faithfulness never gives up the search for the lost and counts no sacrifice too costly to redeem a man's heart."http://www.amazon.com/Table-Presence-Lt-Carey-Cash/dp/0891418881/ref=pd_sim_b_1#noop.
