Police point speed gun at cyclists.

City police Sgt. Chad Nolan pointed a radar gun at cyclists as they passed him on the Meewasin Trail.
"Was I speeding?" said one confused-looking elderly woman.
"No, not at all," Nolan, who clocked the woman's cruiser-style bike at 17 km/h, replied with a laugh.
Nolan and his partner, Sgt. Mark Koch, recorded bikes travelling between 2 km/h and 30 on Thursday along the paved multiuse trail behind the Delta Bessborough.
They didn't hand out any speeding tickets. It's all part of a research project to determine safe speeds on the trail. Police, civic planners and others are trying to find ways to make Saskatoon safer for the growing numbers of vehicles, bikes and pedestrians...Continue reading...
