Saskatoon’s city council has been asked to change the bylaw to allow egg-laying chickens within city limits.

Council will decide Monday night whether or not to reopen the debate about changing a bylaw banning backyard chicken coops within city limits. “I think chickens are a good thing because we live in a time where access to good food is so difficult, especially in certain parts of the city,” said Graham MacDonald, who penned the letter to council asking for the bylaw to be changed...  Crystal Sherris has been served a warning to get rid of the chickens in her backyard. Failure to comply could result in $500 fine.
