An Ottawa woman has been found guilty of animal abuse after letting her cat balloon to 25 pounds.
The conviction of Guylene Roy on charges of permitting distress and failing to provide the necessary care for an animal will send a message that this type of behaviour won't be tolerated, the Ottawa Humane Society (OHS) said.
