A U.S. teen who was fishing near a southern British Columbia community
this week will likely be bragging about his recent catch for years to
come, after he successfully reeled in a 3.5-metre long, 399-kilogram
white sturgeon.
Paul Jarvis, 19, who was fishing in Fraser River, near Hope, B.C., with
his father and a sport-fishing guide on Thursday, said he was shocked
when he saw the monster-sized sturgeon emerge from the water.
"The second we set the hook, it jumped out of the water towards us, so
it looked like a shark jumping out to something," Jarvis told CTV
