TORONTO -- Canada called Monday for the unconditional release of a Canadian man and his American wife after a new video appeared to show them begging their governments to intervene on their behalf with their Afghan captors.
The video, which was uploaded to YouTube on Monday and has not been independently verified by The Associated Press, shows Canadian Joshua Boyle and American Caitlan Coleman, who were kidnapped in Afghanistan in 2012.
Coleman refers to "the Kafkaesque nightmare in which we find ourselves" and urges "governments on both sides" to reach a deal for their freedom. She then adds: "My children have seen their mother defiled."...http://www.cp24.com/news/canada-calls-for-release-of-kidnapped-couple-in-afghanistan-1.3210529

MLB Star Jose Bautista Crashes Children's Hospital ... In Toronto!

PST BY TMZ STAFF

He's one of the biggest free agents in baseball ... but Jose Bautista is still doing big things in Toronto!
Bautista -- who just became a free agent after 8 years with the Blue Jays -- surprised a bunch of young fans at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto this weekend ... to spread some holiday cheer.
We're told Jose was in town to hit some holiday parties -- but felt it was important to carve some time out of his schedule to kick it with some of his biggest supporters.
Jose spent about an hour in the ward visiting with some brave kids fighting cancer who also happened to be HUGE Blue Jays fans (maybe some of them tried to convince him to re-sign with Toronto!)...http://www.tmz.com/2016/12/19/jose-bautista-visits-sick-kids-childrens-hospital/

Meet David A. Clarke, Jr., Milwaukee County Sheriff

Sheriff  David A. Clarke, Jr. caught my attention because he mentions George Soros in his address at Trump Thank You Rally. Thomas

Sheriff Clarke:  Throughout my life and career, I have been dedicated to the study and pursuit of justice, and I am committed to doing all that I can to make citizens safer.
Born and raised in the City of Milwaukee, I played on the championship varsity basketball team at Marquette University High School. I went on to earn a degree in Criminal Justice Management from Concordia University Wisconsin, graduating summa cum laude. As part of my ongoing educational studies, I also graduated from the prestigious FBI National Academy and the National Executive Institute in Quantico, Virginia....
...Like me, most people question why the Office of Sheriff is a partisan election. I have never asked a person to vote for me because I run as a Democrat. I ask them to vote for me based on my 35-year commitment to keeping citizens safe. Most voters get it when it comes to public safety. There is no Democrat or Republican way to be a sheriff. The enemy is not the opposing party; the enemy is the criminal...http://thepeoplessheriff.com/meet-sheriff-clark/

North Carolina man hooks massive 112-pound catfish while fishing

By Jennifer Earl

Riahn Brewington from Wilmington, North Carolina, shares a photo of his epic catfish catch.

It was hook, line and sinker —  literally —  for a man who went out fishing over Thanksgiving.
Equipped with only a small rod, Wilmington, North Carolina, resident Riahn Brewington struggled as he tried to pull out a fish from Cape Fear River last week.
He caught a catfish, but not just any catfish: a giant catfish that weighed more than 112 pounds.
The bloated fish was bigger than the top half of Brewington’s body...http://www.cbsnews.com/news/north-carolina-man-hooks-massive-112-pound-catfish-while-fishing/
