NORTH KOREA - Mind Blowing Mass Games

NORTH KOREA - Mind Blowing Mass Games from Joerg Daiber on Vimeo.

A few weeks back I had the chance to visit Pyongyang and attend the Mass Games there. This show is by far the most incredible and amazing performance I have ever laid my eyes on. Watch this 4 minute film and you will know why. Only a communist country can pull something like this off I guess. However, I do not want to get involved in politics here, so please do your own research.

Many thanks to Simon Cockerell and Jessica Mader from Koryo Tours ( https://koryogroup.com ) and Ri So Hyang, Kim Sun Mi, Lee Song Hyok, Kim Yong Un from KITC for arranging permissions and making this project possible.
By the way: I did not get paid to shoot this film!

Mass Games can basically be described as a synchronized socialist-realist spectacular, featuring over 100,000 participants in a 90-minute display of gymnastics, dance, acrobatics, and dramatic performance, accompanied by music and other effects, all wrapped in a highly politicized package. Students practiced every day from January onwards. The 90 minute performance is held every evening at 7pm and features the 'largest picture in the world' a giant mosaic of individual students each holding a book whose pages links with their neighbours’ to make up one gigantic scene. When the students turn the pages the scene or individual elements of the scene change, up to 170 pages make up one book.
In August 2007, the Mass Games were recognised by Guinness World Records as the largest gymnastic display with 100,090 participants at the May Day Stadium in Pyongyang. (Source Wikipedia)

Beneath Antarctica's Ice, Intriguing Evidence of Lost Continents

A new map reveals the remnants of ancient continents lurking beneath Antarctica's ice.
The map shows that East Antarctica is made up of multiple cratons, which are the cores of continents that came before, according to study leader Jörg Ebbing, a geoscientist at Kiel University in Germany.

"This observation leads back to the break-up of the supercontinent Gondwana and the link of Antarctica to the surrounding continents," Ebbing told Live Science. The findings help reveal fundamental facts about Earth's tectonics and how Antarctica's land and ice sheets interact, he wrote in an email. Typhus spreads through Los Angeles; over 100 cases reported

The consequences of prioritizing social justice over public health.

When we reported on Los Angeles in early October, the city was experiencing an outbreak of the bacterial disease typhus. At that point, 20 cases had been reported.
One month later, the number of recorded cases has risen to over 100.
The number of flea-born Typhus cases in Los Angeles has hit 107.

So far this year 72 patients have been recorded by Los Angeles County Department of Public Health with a further 15 in Long Beach and 20 in Pasadena.
In the 2000s there were around 20 cases recorded per year and analysts are putting the dramatic rise down to a 47 per cent increase in homelessness since 2012.
One official in Long Beach told NBC News that almost half a million potential cases are ‘under investigation.’
The explosion of the homeless population is the root cause of this outbreak. Local leaders are clamoring for this epidemic to be treated as an emergency...https://legalinsurrection.com/2018/11/typhus-spreads-through-los-angeles-over-100-cases-reported/

'Incredible sight': Thousands of bald eagles flock to B.C. valley

CTVNews.ca Staff

Birders and biologists are prepping for a mass migration of as many as 35,000 bald eagles into British Columbia’s Fraser Valley.

Each year, thousands of bald eagles flock to the area surrounding Harrison River north of Chilliwack, B.C. for the winter. The birds will nest in B.C. for the winter months and mate between February and March before returning north.

David Hancock, a biologist and founder of the Hancock Wildlife Foundation, has been studying the birds for more than 60 years and places salmon along the river for the early migrators to feed...https://www.ctvnews.ca/sci-tech/incredible-sight-thousands-of-bald-eagles-flock-to-b-c-valley-1.4172092

Canadians remember the soldiers who fought in World War I and II

In Flanders Fields By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918) Canadian Army

Haunting and uplifting: a visit to Flanders Fields

In Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.https://www.mysteriesofcanada.com/military/flanders-field/
