IOWA -- A pair of animals in Iowa are proving that everyone needs a companion, no matter how unusual the pairing.
Believe it or not, the one-year-old duck and 7-year-old lab are best friends.
Owner Tiffany Smith, 17, introduced the unlikely pet pals.
Smith originally had two ducks on her farm. When one of them died, she introduced "Sterling" the duck to "Cleo" the family dog. Apparently, the two became instant friends.
Smith says the animals are now inseparable and, despite the occasional growl from Cleo, they eat the same food and even sleep together. http://www.wcpo.com/content/news/saywhat/story/Dog-Duck-Make-Unlikely-Pet-Pals/wYaF3f58o02PetYpz70SSw.cspx
