
By Dave Conley: It's summer so that means that shark sightings are on the rise in the
oceans... but in Lake Ontario? Isn't that a fresh water lake? Yes, but,
being one of the great lakes it empties into the St. Lawrence river
which eventually empties out into the Atlantic ocean. Some say it is
possible for a shark to swim upstream and live in fresh water
temporarily, a Great White wouldn't be able to survive but the Great
Lake could certainly become home to a Bull Shark, who has the ability to
breathe and maneuver quite well in fresher waters. Bull Sharks are
actually much more aggressive and hostile than the usually and widely
feared Great White. Not that it matters, really. I wouldn't want to swim
into either of them without a huge honkin'...
