Former justice minister and attorney general Jody Wilson-Raybould is testifying
at a hearing of the House of Commons justice committee about
allegations she was inappropriately pressured to prevent Montreal-based
company SNC-Lavalin from being prosecuted in a bribery case. While it
has been more than two weeks since the Globe and Mail reported the
allegations, this is Wilson-Raybould’s first substantial public
statement on the matter. Her testimony offers her perspective on four
key conversations late last year that involved the clerk of the privy
council, senior staff from the Prime Minister’s Office and Prime
