"For the dog to be so assertive, it's just amazing what animals can do," said Jennifer Burns, whose house burned down early Tuesday. "You hear these stories about how animals can save people's lives and this is one of them."
Her neighbours, Brad and Lori Fraser, were awakened at 12: 50 a.m. by their dog Mandee, a 10-year-old miniature American Eskimo who sleeps on their bed with them in their Colonsay home, about 65 kilometres east of Saskatoon.
"She was just barking, sitting up and looking at us, little barks," Lori Fraser said. "She wasn't at the window, at the fire. She was just barking to say, 'Wake up.' "...Continue reading...
