Dogs and humans have very similar societal systems. We both reside in tight-knit households (or packs) who protect one another and are extremely loyal. The greater they anticipated our ideas and feelings, the more they have been rewarded with food, shelter, and affection.
Although researchers now accept that puppies, and other Animals can really experience real emotions like anxiety, fear, and anger; they nevertheless do not take that manimals have a sense of self and therefore are capable of complex secondary emotions. Instead, the scientists think that animals are incapable of understanding the feelings of other people around them. With a sense of self, they state, secondary emotions, such as jealousy or compassion (what a dreadful situation that person/other puppy is in) are hopeless.
