For my second aerial film, entitled ‘Wild Scotland’, I wanted to showcase some of the wilderness this magnificent country has to offer. From the Highlands and Islands on the west coast to John O’Groats and North Berwick on the east I’ve captured just a fraction of the stunning wilderness which Scotland has to offer.
I’ve spent the last few months travelling up and down the country capturing locations, carefully planning my schedule to take advantage of the best light, be that dawn or dusk. Along the way I’ve been lucky to pick up some unexpected shots such as deer near Ardnamurchan and a large group of seals in a bay near John O’ Groats at the very top of the British mainland. I was lucky to experience a prolonged spell of good weather so filming this was a much faster process than for my first aerial film; Beautiful Scotland - vimeo.com/100426447
Making this film involved a series of mini adventures. Hiking up Bidein a'Ghlas Thuill at 3am in the pitch dark, to film the spectacular serrated ridge of An Teallach, and hearing stags roaring in the valleys below is a memory that will stay with me for a very long time. Also filming Bass Rock near North Berwick, which is home is to the world’s largest single rock Gannet colony with some 40,000 pairs of birds, at first light was a real treat.
The film was mostly shot on the DJI Inspire 1 and for the more remote locations I used the DJI Phantom 3 which can be packed in a backpack really easily.
Big shout out to Drew Gibson who has done another magnificent job colour grading this and also to Pete Smith (www.thesoundspace.co.uk/) who created the sound mix. Cheers also to Rob Waugh (facebook.com/curiousrobinfilms) for feeding back throughout the edit and helping suggest locations.

The Tree of Life (Kabbalah )
The Tree of Life (Kabbalah ) is derived from the Flower of Life. In Hebrew, it is a mystical symbol within the Kabbalah of esoteric Judaism used to describe the path to God. It is an arrangement of ten interconnected spheres (called sephiroth, meaning 'spheres'), which represent the central organizational system of the Jewish Kabbalistic tradition or ‘cosmology' of the Kabbalah.
The Tree of life is considered to be a map of the universe and the psyche, the order of the creation of the cosmos, and a path to spiritual illumination.
The ten spheres represent the ten archetypal numbers of the Pythagorian system. There are said to be 32 paths on the Tree of Life. The first 10 are the Sefiroth (not including Daat). The remaining 22 correspond to the lines or channels of energy that join the Sefiroth together. Each of these, in turn, corresponds to one of the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet....https://www.tokenrock.com/explain-tree-of-life-160.html

To Althea, from Prison By Richard Lovelace
To Althea, from Prison By Richard Lovelace
When Love with unconfinèd wings
Hovers within my Gates,
And my divine Althea brings
To whisper at the Grates;
When I lie tangled in her hair,
And fettered to her eye,
The Gods that wanton in the Air,
Know no such Liberty.
When flowing Cups run swiftly round
With no allaying Thames,
Our careless heads with Roses bound,
Our hearts with Loyal Flames;
When thirsty grief in Wine we steep,
When Healths and draughts go free,
Fishes that tipple in the Deep
Know no such Liberty.
When (like committed linnets) I
With shriller throat shall sing
The sweetness, Mercy, Majesty,
And glories of my King;
When I shall voice aloud how good
He is, how Great should be,
Enlargèd Winds, that curl the Flood,
Know no such Liberty.
Stone Walls do not a Prison make,
Nor Iron bars a Cage;
Minds innocent and quiet take
That for an Hermitage.
If I have freedom in my Love,
And in my soul am free,
Angels alone that soar above,
Enjoy such Liberty. https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/44657/to-althea-from-prison

America’s Invisible Pot Addicts
Annie Lowrey
Aug 20, 2018
The proliferation of retail boutiques in California did not really
bother him, Evan told me, but the billboards did. Advertisements for
delivery, advertisements promoting the substance for relaxation, for
fun, for health. “Shop. It’s legal.” “Hello marijuana, goodbye
hangover.” “It’s not a trigger,” he told me. “But it is in your face.”...https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2018/08/americas-invisible-pot-addicts/567886/?ref=hvper.com&utm_source=hvper.com&utm_medium=website

Who is Q and what exactly is the pro-Trump conspiracy theory QAnon?
Since its birth in October 2017, the US QAnon conspiracy theory - which is based on the enigmatic messages of an anonymous poster named “Q” - has spread from the fringe internet forums 4chan and 8chan to more widely used platforms like Reddit and Facebook.
Firebrand conservative commentators including Roseanne Barr, Curt Schilling and Alex Jones from Infowars have helped amplify the theory, which has often had real-world consequences.
But who is Q and will his or her theories have any long-term impact?...http://www.theweek.co.uk/95197/who-is-q-and-what-is-qanon

Why do only some people get blackout drunk?
By Melissa Hogenboom
It was another regrettably familiar wake-up for Sarah Hepola. Much of her memory from the previous night was blank. She remembers talking to people at a party, but then after that a shadow drops over her memories.
How did she get there, where was the stamp on her hand from? Who bought the pizza? Who was the man beside her?
“I was like, well that’s weird, I don’t know what happened… I just kind of laughed it off, it just seemed normal to me,” she recalls...http://www.bbc.com/future/story/20180613-why-do-only-some-people-get-blackout-drunk

Confusing race and religion is dangerous
Religion is about faith and practice, not blood
I had to read it twice. I couldn't believe what was on the screen at Psychology Today. But there it was: "Anybody who believes Barack Obama is Christian must also believe that Michael Jackson was white" and then that President Obama is a Muslim because his "father was a Muslim Kenyan, descended from a long line of Muslims." Yikes!What's going on here? Had Rupert Murdoch bought PT and brought us under the Fox umbrella? Or worse? Has it suddenly become acceptable to (mis)use psychology to support the classic genocidal lie that people of different religions are different races?
Think about it.This dangerous religion-equals-race ideology lumps Latin American Catholics with Irish Catholics; puts Moroccan Jews in the same genetic bin with my ancestors from Lithuanian, Polish, and German shtetls; and erases racial differences between Indonesian Muslims and Lebanese Muslims. Doesn't make much sense, does it?...https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/over-simulated/201008/confusing-race-and-religion-is-dangerous

Israel Under Attack While World Yawns
By Aussie Dave
Hamas launched over 150 rockets and mortar shells at southern Israel
overnight. Thankfully, no-one was killed, although three Israelis were
injured, at least eight others were treated for panic attacks (including
two pregnant women who went into labor), and several homes and
factories in Israeli communities were damaged.
But make no mistake about it. The terrorists were aiming to kill and maim. Thankfully, their aim is sometimes off, and our government has invested in Iron Dome and bomb shelters.
Israel has responded by striking more than 140 terror targets in Gaza, including a weapons manufacturing & storage facility, a complex used for the Hamas’ naval force, a military compound used for rocket launching experiments, a factory for tunnel components, a coastal attack tunnel, several terror sites in military compounds and Hamas targets. A number of palestinians have been killed, terrorists and civilians alike.
But make no mistake about it. The IDF is targeting the terrorists and their infrastructure only, and is not aiming to kill or injure civilians. The main reasons palestinian civilians are sometimes killed are 1. The terrorists deliberately place them in harm’s way, operating out of civilian areas and placing their infrastructure among them or close by 2. Hamas has not invested in bomb shelters, but rather spent their money on things like rockets, mortars and terror tunnels...http://www.israellycool.com/2018/08/09/israel-under-attack-while-world-yawns/
