It's a common sight in Saskatoon and rural communities, but animal advocates say it's dangerous for drivers and pets alike.
Driving with a dog in the open back of your truck could soon be illegal in the city, if members of a civic committee get their way.
"It's a risk to motorists on the road and it's a huge risk to dogs," Cassandra Hovedestad told the city's advisory committee on animal control at a meeting on Thursday.
