Esther Pollard, wife of convicted Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard, issued a heartfelt plea to US President Barack Obama Monday, urging him ahead of his upcoming visit to Israel to free her husband.
“Mr. President, all Jonathan and I are asking for is your compassion, your compassion and your mercy. People in this world have all kinds of great dreams that they want to accomplish. The greatest dream that Jonathan and I have is that he will be home for Passover this year, to sit next to me at the Passover Seder, to drink his cup of wine, finally, after 28 years, as a free man,” said Esther in an interview to Channel 2 News. “We’re expressing our profound remorse and sorrow for what has happened. We deeply appreciate your helping our nation, our people Israel, to recover from this terrible tragedy, so that we can move on in the strong friendship that has always existed between our two countries. To do so we are asking for your compassion. Please, please let Jonathan come home now for the Festival of Freedom here in Israel.”...Read here...

By Betty Ann Adam: Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield told Martensville school kids he lives with good people aboard the International Space Station and gets to talk to people all over the Earth.“I’m not lonely at all,” he said Monday during a live chat from space with students at Valley Manor Elementary School. Operating the Canadarm is like playing with a big, real video game robot and leaving the Earth in a rocket feels like an amazing ride at the fair, he said. “It feels very powerful. You’re pushed and shaken and vibrated. It’s like a really powerful car. I love it,” Hadfield said in response to questions...Continue reading...

Why I feed my cat antidepressants - CNN

By Katie Walmsley, New York (CNN) -- When I tell people our cat takes an antidepressant, I usually get a funny look. I might as well add that I worship Snoopy, am romantically involved with a Carvel ice cream cake (let's call it Cookiepuss), and drive a car that I knitted myself out of gnu fur... Joke of the Day - 5 Passengers but Only 4 Parachutes

[image]Girls Bag, School Bag, Girls BagSally and Sam could not help but chuckle over this joke. We know Mr. Biden is not the sharpest tool in the shed. We hope he will appreciate the humor and not send a drone this far north.   newjerseynewsroom.com: An airplane was about to crash; there were 5 passengers on board, but only 4 parachutes.
The first passenger, a Romanian said, "I have my children and large family. My family needs me!" He took the first pack and jumped out of the plane.
The second passenger, Whoopi Goldberg, said, "I'm a well know comedian and actress who has a lot to give this country". So, she grabbed the second pack and jumped.
The third passenger, Joe Biden said, "I am the Vice President of the United States and I am the smartest person in this plane, and the smartest Vice President this country has ever had. Our country looks up to me as a great leader!' So, he grabbed the pack next to him and jumped out.
The fourth passenger, Billy Graham, said to the fifth passenger, a 10-year-old schoolgirl, "I have lived a full life and served my God the best I could.
"I will sacrifice my life and let you have the last parachute."
The little girl said, "That's okay Rev. Graham. There's a parachute left for you. America's smartest Vice President took my school bag."

Bill Whatcott punches pro-abort in the mouth at U of S, after after the pro-abort spit in Bill's face

By Lori Coolican: An angry Bill Whatcott with spit on his face. The spit came from a supposedly educated adult university student who Whatcott did absolutely nothing to, except respond to his questions.
Whatcott visits U of S
Image  Weyburn-based conservative Christian activist Bill Whatcott drew scorn from students on his latest visit to the University of Saskatchewan campus.

Standing with two supporters holding up graphic posters of aborted fetuses on the corner of College Drive and Bottomley Avenue Thursday afternoon, he said campus security guards had threatened to arrest him earlier in the day as he tried to distribute his latest pamphlet, entitled “Sodomites and the Supreme Court of Canada.”

Whatcott is attempting to defy a decision released by the Supreme Court of Canada last week, which upheld a Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission ruling that certain pamphlets he distributed in Saskatoon and Regina more than a decade ago incited hatred towards gay people.

He plans to visit campuses in Edmonton and Calgary on Friday and Saturday.

Whatcott said students he encountered in the hallways at the U of S College of Law on Thursday were openly hostile and not interested in discussing his beliefs.

“Universities are supposed to be about academic freedom, academic inquiry, the opportunity to learn. The behaviour at the law school today says that they’re far, far, far below that threshold,” he said...Continue reading...

Israel’s Mission to the Moon

Confronted with the notion of Israel sending a spacecraft to the moon, as Yanki Margalit was one day two years ago, the hi-tech millionaire recalled his options as one or the other: He could laugh, which he acknowledged was a reasonable temptation. Or he could do what he went ahead and did, putting up the $50,000 required to enter Google’s Lunar X Prize international space race. The entry fee was pocket change beside the $30 million it will take to put together the first soft lunar landing since the Soviet Union’s Luna 24 returned with some soil samples in 1976.
“We were naïve,” says Margalit, of the initial estimates developed by Team SpaceIL.
“In the beginning we thought it would cost $8 million and the spaceship would be the size of a Coke bottle.” The reality turned out to be larger in every way: The unmanned craft Margalit’s team aims to land on the lunar surface before the end of 2015 looks more like a credenza...Continue reading...
