Awesome work by someone who cares: Suamico woman rehabilitates wildlife
SUAMICO - The R-PAWS program at the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary in Green Bay helps to rehabilitate thousands of orphaned and injured animals every year.
In 2011, the program took in nearly 5,000 wild animals in need of care.
"These are all animals that are needing help where most of the problems they run into were caused by humans -- either by being hit by cars, flying into windows or some other habitat loss due to human activity," said Mike Reed, director of the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary.
Volunteers like Lynn Peters are crucial to the R-PAWS program. Peters is one of about 60 volunteers who are licensed to care for some of the animals at their very own homes....Continue reading, photos...
